Tereno have recently installed Soilco Turf Special at a site in Kanahooka. Brian from Tereno was particularly impressed with the fine texture and the lighter bulk density gained by the added compost.
The added organics makes the product economical and much easier to spread than a natural soil. A comparison of bulk density is 1.1tonnes/ m3 for Turf Special compared to unamended natural soil at 1.4 tonnes/m3. This means that buying 1 tonne of Turf Special will give up to 4m2 extra coverage than a natural soil based on a 50mm depth.
Tereno used brooms to spread with two men covering an area of 300m2 in a couple of hours.
Ryan’s Turf then supplied and laid kikuyu on the site. Reg has been using Soilco products for years and appreciates the quality and consistency of Turf Special. As a grower Reg recommends Turf Special for all lawn types.
The laying was finished on the 29th October with this photo taken on the 5th November.
